Keeping track of incoming chats can be hard, especially when your daily workflow incorporates various different online (and desktop) tools. While you are working in one environment, you still want to be notified when a new chat needs your attention.
Userlike supports browser notifications to help you to stay in the loop, but their disadvantage is that they only visible for a short amount of time. Use one of the following workflows in addition to browser notifications to get a more robust notification experience with Userlike.
|Email notifications||Use our EmailTicket add-on to keep track of incoming chats|
|Email notifications with Pushover||Integrate our EmailTicket add-on with a dedicated Pushover account|
|Slack integration||Use our Slack add-on to connect to your Slack channels|
|Callback API||Use our callback API add-on to integrate with your specific system(s)|
Email still is the most ubiquitous and stable message format. There are email clients for all platforms, and many also offer notifications for incoming emails. They all provide you with a dedicated place where you can regularly check for new notifications about chat requests.
With our EmailTicket add-on we provide a way to receive Userlike notifications to specified email addresses. Subscribe to a set of events for which you will receive an email with a JSON file attached.
To keep track of incoming chats, just check the setting "Automatic Emails > for Chats". If you are using our Chat Butler, you probably also want to receive an email for chat requests forwarded by him.
Check out our dedicated EmailTicket tutorial for more information on how to configure and use it.
Email notifications with Pushover
To further leverage the EmailTicket add-on, combine it with a notification service like Pushover. Pushover can convert emails you send to your custom Pushover email address into its own notifications.
Native Pushover clients exist for all major platforms. This means that you can simply configure the EmailTicket add-on with your Pushover email address and then receive Userlike notification emails as Pushover notifications on your mobile or desktop app.
Slack is a team communication tool which offers one-on-one messaging, private groups, persistent chat rooms, direct messaging as well as group chats organized by topic. Like Pushover, Slack has apps for all major platforms, desktop and mobile.
You can easily integrate our Slack add-on with your channels to receive notifications on incoming chat requests there, for you and your whole team to see. Just configure your Slack channel and check the setting "Automatic Tickets > for Chats". If you are using our Chat Butler, you probably also want to receive notifications for chat requests forwarded by him.
Check out our dedicated Slack add-on tutorial for more information on how to configure and use it.
Finally you can provide a callback URL to receive Userlike chat notifications wherever you need them. Userlike will call this URL every time one of the configured events occurs, providing a bunch of data related to the event.
This means that you (or your developer team) can display or store Userlike chat notifications in any system you have access to, be it a legacy CRM or your own custom notification system.
Like with the other workflows, check the setting "Automatic Tickets > for Chats" to keep track of incoming chat requests. If you are using our Chat Butler, you probably also want to receive callbacks for all chat requests forwarded by him.
Check out our dedicated API add-on tutorial for more information on how to configure and use it.
