Telegram is a fast growing messenger application that combines strong privacy features with high usability. With our integration, your users can reach you from whatever device they run Telegram on. Their messages will pop up in your Chat Panel so that your operators can deliver the best support.
Thanks to Telegram’s bot feature, being available for users is quick and easy. Bots are special accounts that don’t need an additional phone number, so you can bypass acquiring a dedicated sim card or number.
Use your own Telegram account to create a new bot. This bot will not be connected to your own account later on.
Talk to the Telegram BotFather in your Telegram app and follow its instructions. Think of a name for your bot. It has to end in "bot", like our example, the "fsc_bot". The bot name should be easy to remember for your users. It can be edited later on in case you’ve changed your mind.
You’ll receive an API authorization token to access the bot. Select the Telegram Messenger Widget in your Widget overview. Enter your Telegram API token and your bot’s name in the Telegram tab, then update the Widget.
Once your new bot is connected to a Widget, set its description, about section, and profile picture, so your users know what service to expect from this contact channel. Send these commands to the BotFather:
Select your bot and edit the description.
Select your bot and edit the about text.
Select your bot and upload a profile picture.
Log into your Userlike Chat Panel and start a test conversation with your own support bot. In the example below we have used our Telegram account "Userlike Support" to start a chat with "Fantastic Support Crew" (@fsc_bot). We set the bot’s profile picture and description text.
Communicate your bot’s name to your users, they can find it via contact search in their Telegram app. Find more infos about bots and what they can do on Telegram's bot page.
