The Chat Panel

We recommend to use the Userlike Chat Panel, for which no download is required.

Customizing Chat Widgets

In the Widget overview you can see all your current Chat Widgets. Press the slider icon to enter the Widget Editor and customize a Widget. For example, choose the Group that should receive chats from it. Groups can be created and edited in the Operators section. Customize your chat button and chat window. Adapt it to your website colors and give it your corporate feel and look. Set your Chat Widget monitoring settings and choose the automatic greeting if you want Webvisitors to be automatically invited to a chat. Moreover, you can set an individual greeting message. To keep track of your chats, enable the tracking integration for your Chat Widget. You are free to select either Google Analytics, KISSmetrics, Mixpanel or Matomo (formerly Piwik).

Setting up chat macros

Some questions occur more often than others. For this reason Userlike provides you with templated chat messages to make your chat agents more efficient. You can customize these and add more. It is also possible to set up push macros. You can predefine certain pages and push your chat partner there using a push macro. Using download macros you can let your Webvisitors download files over the chat. Just add your own download URL, upload a file and set up your download macro.

It is also possible to add operator related information to your chat macros by using the placeholder function. In the case you automatically want to insert your name into your message, you need to add the placeholder {{name}} to your chat macro. For example: "You are talking to {{name}}" - "You are talking to Lisa Abel"

Learning Chat Commands

Certain actions can be triggered by typing a command directly into the IM client. For example using a certain macro, setting a name for a Webvisitor or getting a screenshot. Those actions can be triggered by using the following commands:

Personal Settings

In the "Personal settings" section it is possible to configure your Userlike profile. Here you can update your basic personal info, like your profile picture, your operator name or the language of your Dashboard. In addition to change your personal settings you can also:

  • Configure your email notifications
  • Configure your Chat Panel settings
  • Configure your "Browser Notifications"
  • Configure your "Sound notifications"
  • See your "Userlike Credentials" if you want to use an IM
  • Reset your "Online Presence"
  • Signup for the "Userlike Newsletter"

Setup your team

You can add more operators to your team and group to reflect your company structure. Using the role settings, you can set up permission settings and determine the roles of what an operator can and cannot do within the Dashboard. Alias In your profile settings you can either upload your own profile picture or choose a generic one from our picture library. It is also possible to choose an alias name, which will be displayed instead of your real name. The alias operator feature is a useful tool if multiple operators want to be displayed with the same credentials or want to remain incognito.

Extend the functionality of Userlike by integrating it to your business tools. Userlike can be integrated to many third-party addons.
